Dragnet

The complete NBC radio drama, 1949–1957 — as a podcast.

Jack Webb as Sgt. Joe Friday, 1957 NBC publicity photo.

Dragnet was the brainchild of Jack Webb and may very well be the most well-remembered radio police drama ever broadcast. From June 1949 through February 1957, its half-hour episodes brought to NBC listeners true police stories from the files of the Los Angeles Police Department, presented in a low-key, documentary style. Webb himself starred as Sgt. Joe Friday; Barton Yarborough played his first partner, Sgt. Ben Romero.

This feed collects 308 surviving episodes preserved by the Old Time Radio Researchers Group and mirrored from the Internet Archive. Each episode includes a synopsis, the famous opening narration, production notes, and an ASR transcript.
